A Day in the Life of an ADTC Camper

At ADTC, we believe in providing a well-rounded dance experience. Campers will take 4-5 dance classes each day, Monday through Friday, taught by our professional choreographers. Our core dance disciplines include contemporary, hip hop, and jazz, with each style varying to keep you on your toes. You might find yourself performing a Broadway-inspired routine, a lyrical contemporary piece, or even a fun jazz number!

In addition to the core classes, campers also have the opportunity to explore elective dance styles like ballet, tap, and world dance. These electives give dancers a chance to diversify their training and experience new forms of movement, all while having a blast.

Curriculum Tailored to All Skill Levels

At ADTC, we understand that every dancer is unique. That’s why we organize campers into groups based on age and ability, ensuring that each dancer gets the most out of their experience. Life at ADTC in Illinois

Our dance camp is hosted at the beautiful Lake Forest Academy (LFA), an accredited boarding school located just 30 miles from Chicago. LFA provides the perfect environment for our campers, offering top-notch facilities and a safe, comfortable space to focus on dance and personal growth. It is accredited by both the Independent School Association of the Central States (ISACS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), ensuring that our camp is held to the highest standards.

Campers and staff live together in a traditional residence hall, where they are organized into hallway blocks based on age. ADTC staff members are housed on each floor, providing campers with 24-hour supervision and support. This living arrangement allows for a sense of community and camaraderie, making ADTC more than just a dance camp — it's an experience that creates lasting friendships and memories.
